Service Date: April 23, 2018 Funeral Services honoring George’s life will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery. |

George E. Dandurand, age 87 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Racine, WI. Born in Dowagiac, MI on July 18, 1930, he was the son of the late Lester and Hazel (Burnham) Dandurand. He lived many years in Libertyville, IL and moved to Kenosha in 1961. George served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1947 to 1951 during which he was stationed in Korea for two years. While in Korea George acquired the nickname of “Dangerous Dan — The Radio Man.” from his fellow soldiers. In 1951 he was released from active duty to the United States Army Reserves where he served 5 years and was honorably discharged in 1956. On January 16, 1954 in MI, he was united in marriage to Sharon “Sue” Schoenradt. Following his training in the military, George gained employment as a TV Repairman with TV Engineers of Kenosha. During the latter part of the 1960’s, George was employed by Speaker Electric of Kenosha where he apprenticed and became a Journeyman Electrician later to become a Master Electrician. George never sat idle; he liked to work around the house and tinker, and would also spend time enjoying the outdoors at local parks and beaches. His favorite times were spent spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Sue; his three children, George Dandurand, Christina Milburn and Jerry Dandurand, Sr.; his grandchildren, Jaime and husband James Langdon, Heather Milburn, Justin, Missy, Jerry Jr., Amanda, and Shane Dandurand and Zack Pfeifer; his great grandchildren, Averie Langdon and Chase Dandurand and many loving nieces and nephews who would often refer to him as “crazy uncle George” for his humorous anecdotes at family get togethers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin and Vincent Dandurand and nine siblings, Noraine, Marjarie, Isabelle “Izzy”, Jennette “Jean”, Pete, Bill, Tom, Pat and Cecil. |
