Maxine L. “Chick” Koslica, age 92 of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Grande Prairie Health and Rehab Center. Born in Kenosha on March 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Scherr) Henn. She was united in marriage to Emil Koslica. They were blessed with many years together. Sadly, he preceded her in death. She was a dedicated owner and operator of Club 6 Supper Club and Emil and Chick’s Bar. Chick was known for her fun loving disposition. She relished entertaining people and played the accordion for many years. Chick was a member of a popular trio “The Screw Balls”. For ten years, she taught accordion at The Music Center and was a member of the Musician’s Union for over 60 years. She loved animals, especially her dog, Jazz and also enjoyed gardening, children, and relating colorful stories. Chick had a special place in her heart for Christmas and made it even more special with her unique Christmas tree which was a highlight of her neighborhood and was featured in an article in the Kenosha News. She will always be remembered by her loving son, Dr. Jeffery (Nadine) Ausen; her two grandchildren, Cameron (Katie) Ausen and Samantha (Bryan) O’Connell; two great grandchildren, Alice (Mae) and Kellan (Dale) O’Connell; a niece, Dennise Zanotti; and her very special friend, Connie Massie. In addition to her parents and husband, Emil, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Sartore. |
