Robert Wayne Bistrick, Sr., 76, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Froedtert South-Kenosha Hospital Campus. Born in Kenosha on January 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Chester and Emma (Sturino) Bistrick. Robert attended Bain Elementary, McKinley Junior High School and St. Joseph High School. Robert was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He honorably served from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1964. Robert was a Golden Glove Champ and boxed while he was in the Army. On December 23, 1966, he married Laura Lee Vandenberg. They raised four children and were blessed with 51 years together. For 25 years, Robert was employed in the street department with the City of Kenosha. He was an all-around athlete who excelled in football and played basketball, softball and golf. He enjoyed spending time fishing; especially in the Kenosha Harbor and teaching his children and grandchildren the art of fishing. Robert was also a collector of toys from the 1940’s and 1950’s. Left to cherish Papa’s memory is his wife, Laura; his children, Barry (Julie) Schwartz , Todd (Julie) Schwartz , Kris (Cindy) Schwartz and Robert Wayne Bistrick, Jr.; sisters, Joan (Ben) Brougham and Barbara Kates; grandchildren, Ryan Schwartz, Megan Schwartz, Bailey Schwartz, Madelyn Schwartz, Kristian Schwartz , Zakry Schwartz and Amanda Rasmussen and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred. |
