November 29, 1931 - September 22, 2017 Service Date: September 27, 2017 Funeral services honoring Pietro’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 beginning with a 9:15 a.m. prayer service at Piasecki Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery. |

Pietro Palermo, age 85 of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Hospice Alliance, Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Pietro was born in the town of San Fili, province of Consenza Italy on November 29, 1931, the son of the late Luigi and Maddalena (Parise) Palermo. He attended schools in Italy and joined the Italian Armed Forces, stationed in Rome. In 1955 he traveled to Canada. On August 31, 1957 he married Frances Noto in Toronto, Canada and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They moved to Kenosha in 1957 where Pietro was employed with American Motors as a set-up man for the engine department, retiring in 1989 after 30 years. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Men’s Society and enjoyed gardening, making wine and deer hunting in upper Wisconsin. Pietro is survived by his wife, Frances; his four sons, Louis (Laurie), David (Cathy), John (Heather), Anthony (Heather) Palermo and his daughter Christina (Joseph) Funk, all of Kenosha, along with his 14 grandchildren, Peter, Katie and Michael Palermo, Ashley (Chris) Shear, Jessica (Jorge) Gamarro, Bryce Palermo, Sydney (Tyler) Bush, Brittany, Stephanie and Mitchell Funk, Maren, Parker, Riley and Ellie Palermo. He is further survived by his sisters Concetta Granata, Angelina Palermo and Mary Delle Donne and a brother, Mario Palermo, all of Canada. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Alfredo Palermo, his father and mother-in-law, Carmen and Christine Noto and his brothers-in-law, Joe Granata and Joe Palermo. Pietro’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ranieri, Dialysis Staff of United Hospital System-St Catherine Campus and to the Kenosha Visiting Nurse Association for the loving care given to Pietro. |
