Dorthy M. Stanton, age 88 of Kenosha, died on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at United Hospital Systems-Kenosha Hospital Campus, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 27, 1928 in Centerville, IA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Main) Houser. On September 16, 1951 in Iowa, she was united in marriage to Carlton Stanton. Dorthy was a dedicated wife and mother. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Kenosha Soup Kitchen. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. Dorthy was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. Dorthy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Carlton Stanton; her four children, Deborah (Steve) Nelson, Kathryn (Paul) Mac Gillis, Stephen (Linda) Stanton and Karen (Dwayne) Eastman; her sister, Doris Columbus; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Madaline Sager and a brother in childhood. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Stephen Feuerbach, Dr. Katherine Abbo, Dr. Joshua Bloom and Kenosha Hospital 3 Palmer Staff; especially Nurse Eileen for the exceptional care they provided.
