Carole Cecile Jacobsen, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Parkside Manor, hand in hand with her husband and daughter at the age of 76. Born in Chicago, IL, on September 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Hans and Ilse Hofer. On July 4,1964, she met the love of her life, Richard A Jacobsen, when they shared their first dance together. They married 27 days later on July 31, 1964. Carole and Dick never missed a dance together in 53 years. Carole “CJ Fox” always hit the ground running, and there was nothing she couldn’t do. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Tim, Rusty, and Christine, and taught them the value of working hard and playing hard. She then decided to attend the College of Lake County and obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, graduating at the top of her class. Starting at Victory Memorial Hospital, she continued on specializing in CCU and the ER. As her children grew, she and her husband decided to live on the edge and move to Kauai, HI. They became restaurant owners and also owned a Mountain Bike shop, while also working for Wilcox Hospital as an ER nurse for 20 plus years. She then went on to obtain her Mariner’s license and worked on a ship. They lived there for 30 years. CJ was very athletic and never missed a day at the gym. She fell in love with Mountain biking, skiing, riding waves, snorkeling, rollerblading, and basically anything to do with the outdoors. She shared that passion with her children and then her four grandchildren, teaching each sport with enthusiasm. Carole’s greatest joy in life was her family as each moment was an adventure filled with laughs and smiles. Her zest for life was contagious. CJ will be truly missed and remembered by her husband, Richard; her daughter Christine; son-in-law, Mike McGinty; and her four grandchildren, Kristin (Jack) Minister, Molly, Madison and Jake. Along with many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Tim and Rusty Jacobsen. A special thank you to Dr. Quddus, Parkside Manor, and Hospice Alliance for their compassion and care. |
