Henry T. “Hank” Anderson, age 89, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, MS on September 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry C. and Clara (Reed) Anderson. He spent his younger years in Mississippi, later moving to East St. Louis and came to Kenosha in 1956. On October 20, 1985, Hank was united in marriage to Earnestine “Tina” Crain. Hank was a hard-working man, owning several companies over the years. While living in East St. Louis he owned and operated Crescent Cab Company and worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for 13 years. Back in Kenosha, he opened Blue Flame on 60th and 30th in the 1960’s. He later opened Hank & Sons Tavern for 13 years, Hank & Tina’s for 17 years and was also employed with AMC/Chrysler Corp., as an inspector for over 30 years. He delivered the Kenosha News for 12 years, worked for St. Catherine’s Hospital in the maintenance department and also worked for Laidlaw Bus Company. Hank was a member of Coleman Chapel, the UAW Local #72 Retirees and former member of the Masonic, Elks and REEB Lodges. In his free time, he enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards and caring for his rental properties. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Tina; his six children, Aubrey (Linda) Anderson, Beverly (Nabeeh) El-Amin, Janice (Gerald) Wilcoxin, Rochelle Anderson-Moore, Erwin (Cynthia) Anderson and Cynthia Anderson. Hank is further survived by his siblings, Louise Clemons, Olden Anderson, Marzell Anderson, Barbara Anderson, Hattie Jones, Thelma Rush and Billy Anderson; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Hank is preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Anderson; two sons, Cornelius Anderson in infancy and Wayne Anderson; two brothers, A. C. Anderson, Jesse Anderson and a sister, Gloria Lewis. |
