Mary C. Cunningham, age 80, of Kenosha, died on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at United Hospital System – Kenosha Hospital Campus. Born in Clyde, Mississippi on April 13, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Tommie and Jessie Mae (Thompson) Wolfe. She moved to Kenosha in 1947. On November 15, 1953 in Kenosha, she was united in marriage to James E. Cunningham Sr. Mary retired from Curtis Strange Elementary School as a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant. Mary had been baptized a Jehovah’s Witness. She was a founding member and president of the Melody Social Club, and she along with her family led the weekly bible study. Mary was a wonderful outgoing lady who treated everyone like they were family. Over the years, she had counseled many people through God’s word. She enjoyed music, dancing, fishing and cooking. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Cunningham; her five children, Leonard (Barbara), Linda Faye, David (Toni), Glendora and Francilla R. Cunningham; her three brothers, Frank (Gertrude), Tommie, Jr. and Nathaniel (Toni) Wolfe; her thirteen grandchildren, Leonard, Jr., Taylor, Shawn (Stephanie), Jamie and Joshua Cunningham, Tracy and Greg Daniels, Tyrell (Jasmine) Morris, Charles (Roserio Nunez) Cunningham, Royce Cunningham, Christopher Cunningham, Zjetia Z. Strong-Cunningham and Katie E. Young-Cunningham; a host of great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Mary is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Evanell Hartewell, Mary (Cliffton) Bryant and Linda Cunningham; her brothers-in-law, James Tolefree, James Rainey and Norris Niles; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Edward Jr. and Craig Cunningham; three sisters, Elouise Tolefree, Madie Rainey and Artrisha Niles; and a granddaughter, Kizzy Riley. |
