Samuel P. Decker, age 68 of Kenosha, died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his residence. Born in Culver City, CA on November 17, 1947, he was the son of the late Stanley R. and Juanita M. (Sharp) Decker. Samuel was employed with American Motors, was a liaison with the United Way of Kenosha, was employed with Mopar Parts Depo in Beaverton, Oregon, and Mopar Parts Depo in Stockton, CA until his retirement in 2010. He was a chief steward and member of the U.A.W. Local #72. During the 1970’s through the 1990’s, he was a dedicated labor leader in Kenosha. Samuel was a chairman of the Community Service Committee, was a Kenosha Labor Paper board member, head of the Labor Round Table Breakfast, and was active in Labor Fest. He played an important part in the start of the Kenosha Soup Kitchen. He was an avid cartoon buff who enjoyed watching Sponge Bob Square Pants, and Phineas and Ferb. He is survived by his two children, Samuel T. (Catherine) Decker of Racine and Sarah (Jason) Matson of Portland, Oregon; his brother, Michael (Pat) Decker of Redding, CA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Decker and Bruce Donaldson and a sister, Loretta Ann High.
