William Samuel Feemster, affectionately known as both Bill and Bud, of Kenosha, age 93, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Casa Del Mare Assisted Living Facility in Kenosha. He was born in York, Nebraska on January 19, 1923 to Howard and Emma (Groelz) Feemster. He attended York College receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in History with minors in science and math. As a member of the “Greatest Generation”, Bill was a veteran of World War II, enlisting on June 3, 1942 in the Army Air Corp. He proudly served his country testing high altitude bombardment radar on B29’s until his honorable discharge on February 19, 1946. Furthering his education after his military service, William went to Valparaiso Technical Institute and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio and TV Engineering. On February 17, 1951 he married Corinne Collins of Lansing, Illinois where they settled, raised a family and spent most of their golden years until 2012. Bill enjoyed a 36 year career with NBC as a Broadcast Transmission Engineer spanning the transition from radio to television before retiring in 1985. Bill was a proud member of the American Legion. He was an avid gardener and family photographer taking many photos, slides and home movies. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing tennis and football. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Corinne; his loving daughters, Holly (Steve) Coon of Bartlett, IL and Heidi (Mark) Steinbrenner of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Matthew (Abbey) Coon, Christopher Coon, Caroline Coon, Zachary Steinbrenner, Samantha Steinbrenner, Heather Dirr and Stephanie (Jay) Scarbrough; his great-grandchildren, Ethan Dirr and Hannah Hansen; his sister, Elizabeth Gladden of WA; 2 nephews, Gary Feemster and Jim Gladden and 2 nieces, Sally and Kathy Gladden. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilhemina Jashemski; his brother, Calvin (Opal) Feemster and brothers-in-law, Stanley Jashemski and James Gladden.
