Helen M. Kopp, age 91 of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Lake County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Oconomowoc, WI. She was born in Marinette, WI, on July 2, 1924 to the late Frank and Jennie (Etzelmueller) Kushman. In 1928, Kenosha became her home where she attended local schools and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1942. Helen was united in marriage to John Kopp on April 28, 1945 at Friedens Lutheran Church in Kenosha. After 53 years of marriage, John preceded her in death on February 26, 1999. She was employed with Kenosha Leatherette & Display Co. for 16 years, retiring in 1986. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Society at Immanuel United Methodist Church; past president of the PTA and a life member of the VFW Post #2751 Auxiliary. She loved to bake; especially desserts. Helen was an accomplished traveler with her husband to each of the 50 states as well as internationally. She enjoyed the family camping trips but her family is what she cherished the most. Helen is survived by her two children, Alan (Pat) Kopp and Louise (Terry) Zastrow; her four grandchildren, Bradley Zastrow, Adrienne (Allen) Krueger, Rachael (Seth) Buffington and Leah (Dan) Miller; five great-grandchildren, Arianna and Elias Buffington, Kane Zastrow, Jameson Krueger and Wyatt Krueger, who was born on her 91st birthday; her brother Frank (Karen) Kushman along with many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Johnson and a brother, Richard Kushman. |
