Private interment will be held in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. |

James J. Adams, age 70 of Kenosha, died on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Sheridan Medical Complex. Born in Oak Park, IL, on September 29, 1945, he was the son of the late George and Gertrude (Meindl) Adams. James graduated from Central High School in West Allis, WI. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and made it his career; retiring in 1982. On April 6, 1968 in Patuxent River, MD; James married Barbara L. Goodwin. They were blessed with three daughters and enjoyed 42 years of marriage together until Barbara passed away on September 20, 2010. James was a member of St. Michael Episcopal Church in Racine, WI. A giving person of his time and talents, he was a Kenosha Mason –Unity Lodge #367 and a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed the great outdoors through RV camping. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Christopher) Russell, Jerianne (Raymond) Closs and Jessica Mahon; thirteen grandchildren and his sisters, Loretta (Bruce) Smith, Joyce (Daniel) Williams and Shirley (Eric Johnson) Adams. In addition to his parents and wife, Barbara, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Adams and two grandsons, Jonathon and Daniel Mears.
