Elma Heiring age 85, of Kenosha, peacefully passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 18, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Sam and Jessie (Rozzoni) Mantuano. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford, class of 1948. Before Elma married, she worked as a grocery clerk in her father’s store. In 1947, her brother Eugene, “Gig” introduced her to the man who would become her husband, James Heiring. They were married on May 16, 1953 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Elma was a member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church but attended Journey Church on various occasions. She devoted her life to raising and caring for her family. She instilled in her children, the importance of family. She spent many days praying for her husband and sons in Law Enforcement and Firefighting. A visit to mom’s home revolved around food. If you left hungry, it was your fault. She was a wonderful and supportive mother and grandmother, who cheered on her children and grandchildren at their sporting and school events. A stranger wasn’t a stranger for long in Elma’s company. She would reach out and strike up conversations with people wherever she traveled. She is survived by her five children, Jim (Linda) Heiring of Kenosha, Dave (Ann) Heiring of Paris, Sally (Don) Lutz of Florida, Tom (Jenny) Heiring of Kenosha; Alice (Joe) Wamboldt of Kenosha, her amazing fifteen grandchildren, Aaron (Jenn), Sam, Paul (Cecily), Amanda, Jake (Sarah), Matt, Thomas (Jana), David (Julia), Sarah, Mitchell, Jack, Audrey, Cody, Cassidy, and Chloe and her four wonderful great-grandchildren, Anthony, Dominic, Joseph, and Lilliana; her dear sister, Loretta Goff and two amazing brothers, Sam and Alfred Mantuano. Elma was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Tony and Eugene, and her beloved son John. The Heiring Family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Season’s Hospice for the love and care given to their wife and mother during her illness. |
