Johanna M. Lechner, a resident of Brookside Care Center, passed away on Monday, October 06, 2014.
Born on December 16, 1933, in Peisenberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Martina (Winkler) Gnedel. She received her education in Germany and was also a graduate in Interior Design from Gateway Technical College in May of 1978.
After marrying her first husband, Martin Paul Kelley in Germany, she came to the U.S. in 1962, their marriage was later dissolved. On October 27, 1982, she married Robert C. Lechner, he preceded her in death in 1987.
Johanna was employed by Porters of Racine in the sales department, the Elks Lodge in Kenosha and later went into business for herself as an Interior Design consultant. She had a passion for art and was an accomplished painter.
Johanna is survived by a son, Paul Patrick Kelley; as well as her friends and caretakers, Heidi Marcoe, Nadine Gabriel and Al Gabriel.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Sean M. Kelley in 2007.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Brookside Care Center’s staff and also Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care; and to her caretakers and friends, Heidi, Nadine and Al and the late Joni Borggren Mitchell for their devoted care and friendship over the past several years.
