Dorothy M. Mantuano age 86, of Kenosha, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016, with her loving family at her side at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born on December 15, 1929 she was the daughter of the (late) Fred and Helen (Chambers) Miller. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford, class of 1948. Before Dorothy married, she worked as a secretary for Kenosha law firm, Lepp, Phillips, & Richards. In 1949, at a Sunday night dance at the Eagles Club, she met the man who would become her husband, Eugene “Gig” Mantuano. They were married on September 9, 1950 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before Eugene passed away in 2010. Dorothy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wilmot. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and liked to travel with her husband and family. She enjoyed winters in Arizona and even visited Italy a few times. She loved dining out, meeting up with family and friends, especially at her family’s restaurant Mangia Wine Bar. She was a wonderful and supportive grandmother and cheered on her grandchildren at all their sporting and school events. She is survived by her five children, Susan (Steve) Tishuk of Kenosha, Anthony (Catherine) Mantuano of Chicago, Sandra Mc Question of Kenosha, Judi Walker of Madison and Eugene (Catherine) Mantuano Jr. of Kenosha; her eleven grandchildren, Christopher (Rochelle), Rachel (Jason), Zachary, Anthony (Lizzy), Tre (Ashley), Colette, Gianni, Gina (Peter), Noah, Carlo and Luca; and her four adoring great-grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Collin, Eliana; her two dear sisters, Janet (Richard) Lewicke and Judy Gaal. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Miller. |
