Donald L. Palmen, age 80, of Kenosha, passed away at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie on Friday, December 11, 2015. Born on October 13, 1935, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Harold and Violet (O’Neal) Palmen. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. On June 16, 1956 he married Edna Nevelier at St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He owned and operated Palmen’s Quick Stop, retiring after 35 years. Don was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, camping and fishing. He loved to gamble by playing the slot machines, lottery tickets and trips to Branson. Most of all Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Edna and his four children, Jane (Kevin) Veasey of Kenosha, Steven (Deborah) Palmen of Pleasant Prairie, Patricia (Jeff) Schnuck of Kenosha and James (Lynn) Palmen of Oak Creek; his five grandchildren, Allan and Michael Schnuck, Mathew and Melissa Palmen and Denise (John) Boyer; his three great grandchildren, Zachery, Jacob and Alex Boyer along with his brothers, Harold Palmen and Kenneth (Diana) Palmen. Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Colette Palmen.
