Michael J. “Mike” DiCello, age 93, of Kenosha, died on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on June 26, 1922, and was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Mancuso) DiCello.
Mike honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On May 11, 1991, he was united in marriage Theresa Balciunas.
For many years, Mike was employed with AMC/Chrysler Corporation as a foreman, retiring in 1983. After retiring, he enjoyed working part time for Dairyland Greyhound Park.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time fishing and golfing. Mike and his wife learned crafts at the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program; then in turn, enjoyed teaching those crafts to children at schools. Mike liked to gamble and play bingo, so he would often travel to Las Vegas. In August of 2012, he won the Jack Pot at Potawatomi! Mike was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his son, Mike DiCello; a sister, Katie Lee; his step children, Annette (Norm) Marzahl, Vitoldas Balciunas, Birute (Randy) Shlecht and Aldona Balciunas; along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his brother, Joseph DiCello; his sisters, Emma Shulski and Rose Ruffalo-Thomas and three step children, Grace Balian, Leone Sturman and Dominic Mascarette.
