Guenther F. Vogt, age 84 of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Born in Weirbach, Germany on June 19, 1931, he was the son of the late Ernest and Katherine (Bohnenberger) Vogt. Guenther was educated in Germany and learned the art of gem-cutting in Ida-Oberstein, Germany. He moved to the U.S. in 1954. From 1955 to 1957, he honorably served in the U.S. Army. On December 18, 1954, he was united in marriage to Lieselotte Becker. They were blessed with over 60 years of marriage. Following his military service, Guenther began employment with AMC/Chrysler Motors as an assembler. While working at AMC he began an apprenticeship and mastered the skill of a hydraulic machine repair man. He worked in that capacity until his retirement in 1990. Following his career at AMC/Chrysler, Guenther and his wife owned and operated Creative Jewelers from 1983 to 1998. Guenther was well known as an accomplished gold and silversmith. He was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1954. Guenther loved his gift of song and was a member of the MGV Harmonia Chorus for more than 50 years. Guenther enjoyed playing professional soccer in Germany and the U.S. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing. He will be remembered by his loving wife, Lieselotte; his two sons, Hans Guenther (Ruth) Vogt, and Friedrich Mark (Patty Hopkins) Vogt; his grandchildren, Kurt D. (Karen Mc Kenna) Vogt, Jason M. Vogt, Rachel (John) Swift and Jennifer Nicole Vogt; his step-grandchildren, John and Adam (Ruth) Christman; his great granddaughter, Eva Nalani Vogt; and his brother, Hans Vogt of Germany.
