Dorothy Brinkman of Kenosha passed away on November 20, 2015 at Hospice House- Pleasant Prairie. Born in Chicago, IL on October 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank Dominick and Gertrude Mueser. She attended schools in Chicago. In 1961 in Chicago, IL, Dorothy was united in marriage to James “Jim” Brinkman. Sadly after 54 years of marriage, Jim preceded her in death on March 7, 2015. Dorothy was employed as an administrative assistant with Time, Inc. in Chicago until her retirement in 1987. After retirement, Dorothy and her husband lived in Apple Canyon Lake, Rockford, and Roscoe, IL, and most recently in Kenosha. She is survived by her children, Patricia J. Padgett-Ross of Villa Hills, KY, Gregory A. (Marie) Padgett of Oak Park, IL, Leslie J. (Donald) Padgett-Albrecht of Louisville, KY, James J. (Sandra) Brinkman of Kenosha, and Joseph M. (Sue) Brinkman of Palatine, IL. Dorothy is further survived by ten beloved grandchildren, Shane, Laurel, Sally, Caitlin, Wendy, Samantha, Megan, Taylor, Annie, Glen and six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia, Angelina, Landon, Ashton, and Coleman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eldest son, William Raleigh Padgett. Dorothy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer shortly after her husband’s death. Her family is forever grateful for the continued support and assistance they received over the past few months from the staffs of Hospice Alliance, Inc. and Hospice House.
