Mary Frances Sevick, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 22, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Waukegan, IL on May 12, 1926 to the late Francesco and Rosaria (Saporito) Vignieri. Her mother died when Mary was very young and her father was remarried to Clara Misurelli; moving to Kenosha in the 1930’s and adding children to the family. Mary attended schools in Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School. In 1946, Mary was united in marriage to Walter Sevick; later in 1972, their union was dissolved. Mary worked at Kenosha Beef in the accounting department until her retirement. She had rhythm and style. Mary loved to dance, gracing the dance floor in ballroom dance three times a week. She was an accomplished singer for several Catholic choirs and played the piano. Her beauty was adorned with her love of jewelry but it was her personality that gave her real charm. She was an ardent fan of the Green Bay Packers. She was a talented gardener and cook; hosting holiday family gatherings was where she shined. Mary was a member of the Women of the Moose Club and held a special place in her heart for her son, Mark. Mary is survived by her children, Mark Sevick of Kenosha, Jerry (Debbie Long) Sevick of Denmark, WI and Tom (Michel) Sevick of Kenosha; her four grandchildren, Karri Sevick, Traci (Glenn) Sevick-Schmitz, Michael (Kari) Sevick and Danielle Sevick; two great-grandchildren, Elliott and Eisley Rose; her special friend, Aubrey Bukowski. She is further survived by her sisters, Rosemary (Steven) Weingrad and Judy (Joseph) Martir and her brothers, Michael (Michelle) Vignieri and Tony (Elizabeth) Vignieri along with many loving relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Steven in 2008; her siblings, Frank, Joyce and Charles and her former husband, Walter. |
