Philip Jesse Loving, age 94 of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 30, 1920, he was the son of the late Jesse Guy and Alta Jean (Summitt) Loving. He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. On January 6, 1942, in Fairfield, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Mary Helen O’Neill. Together they raised their six children and shared in 73 loving years of marriage; making Kenosha their home in January of 2014. Philip was employed as the station manager with Trailways Bus Company in Burlington, IA and with Greyhound in Waukegan, IL. After 25 years of service, Philip retired in 1983. He enjoyed traditional jazz music and sports; especially baseball (“work-up”) and basketball. In his younger years, Philip could be found on the courts participating in a good game of tennis. Most important, however, was his dear wife and family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen; his children, Stephen (Carolyn) Loving of Minneapolis, MN, Mark (Aljean) Loving of Middlebury, IN, Diane (Ronald) Thompson of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Peter (Antoinette) Loving of Bloomington, MN and Jean Ann (Stephen) Nelson of Pleasant Prairie, WI along with his 16 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren , a brother Roger K. Loving of Sun City , AZ and daughter in law, Rita F. Loving of Sioux Falls, SD and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to Philip’s parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David P. Loving and a brother, Hamilton E. Loving and a sister, Fielda Mills. |
