Louis P. “Lou” Iaquinta, age 89 of Kenosha, was born to eternal life Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at United Hospital System – Kenosha Hospital Campus, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kenosha on December 17, 1925, he was the son of the late Francesco and Agostina (Arrigo) Iaquinta. He was a 1944 graduate of Kenosha High School and attended U.W.-Madison. On January 6, 1951 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, he was united in marriage with his “precious love” Dorothy Snowtala. They were happily married for 64 years and accordingly to Lou, Dorothy was his “favorite hobby.” For many years, he was a well-known State Farm Insurance Agent. He clearly loved his job and was a people person. Before State Farm, he was employed at Williams Sausage Shop. Religion and faith always played an important role in Lou’s life. At the young age of seven, he approached his parents and asked to be baptized Catholic. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the former St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Lou faithfully served as a Trustee, Eucharistic Minister, and Parish Council member. A Romance language aficionado, Lou was a native Italian language speaker. In his younger years, he played baseball and was the biggest fan at his children’s events, including sporting events. He was a light-hearted, loving family man always ready to share a laugh with his loved ones. He will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Dorothy Iaquinta, his five sons, L. John (Janis), Eugene J. (Carol), Lawrence J., Vincent J. (Heidi) and James J. (Kim) Iaquinta, his daughter, Mary Ann Iaquinta, his nine grandchildren, Kendall and Kelly Iaquinta, Laura (Todd) Westergard, Phillip Iaquinta, Kristen (Andy) Schulz, Jaclyn (Steve) Hansen and Jacob, Rachel and Connor Iaquinta, his great grandchildren, Quinn, Lucas, Reagan, August and Georgia, and his many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Iaquinta. Lou’s family expresses profound gratitude to the compassionate care given to him by the staff of St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged. We also wish to thank the many caring and wonderful people at Kenosha Hospital who supported us during this difficult time. |
