Beverly J. Baas, age 87 of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on April 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sylvia (Walters) Vandeveld. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School. On October 4, 1947 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Donald Baas. They were blessed with 53 years together. Sadly, Donald preceded her in death on September 15, 2001. Beverly was employed with Grants Department Store for 14 years until their closing. She then was employed with K-Mart until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the former St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Beverly liked to knit, crochet and sew. She enjoyed cheering for her favorite teams especially; The Packers and the team during the Brett Favre Era, The New York Jets, and The Milwaukee Brewers; and along with her husband, Don the Chicago White Sox. Beverly cherished the time she spent with her family and loved to host large gatherings. She also enjoyed their family trips to Las Vegas. She will always be remembered by her four children, Gayle (Wayne) Stinefast, Patricia Baas, Jeff Baas and Tim (Mary) Baas; her sister, Patricia Willems; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by two children in infancy; a brother, Thomas Vandeveld, Jr., her sisters, Rosemary and Hazel; a grandson, Gabriel and a great granddaughter, Gianna. Beverly’s family would like to express a special thank you Dr. Syed Haider, Dr. Priti Patel, Jamie Cairo, NP and the entire staff of Hospice Alliance, Inc. and Hospice House for the exceptional love and care that was provided. |
