Nancy Kaye, age 71 of Kenosha, died unexpectedly and peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee.
She was born on January 1st, 1943 in Kenosha to Charles and Marcella (Maloney) Schmidt. She grew up in Kenosha and graduated from St. Joseph High School, the University of Wisconsin Parkside; obtaining her Master’s Degree from Carthage College.
Nancy married Edward Kaye in Las Vegas in 1981and were blessed with 33 years together.
She was an English school teacher who spent most of her career teaching at Reuther High School in Kenosha, but also taught at Tremper, Bradford and Burlington High Schools. Nancy retired from teaching in 2003.
Nancy enjoyed going to her cabin up north, swimming, reading books (faster than anyone) and spending time with her family, friends and “club ladies”. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Edward of Kenosha; her children, Thomas (Michela) Anderson, Jr. of Kenosha, Barbara (Scott) Anderson of Racine and stepdaughter, Kimmy (Dennis) Hass of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Benjamin and Alaina Anderson of Kenosha and Megan and Ryan Anderson of Racine and step-grandchildren, Christina, Steffanie and Steven Hass of Wisconsin Rapids.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Schmidt.
