A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4816 7th Ave. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery and Mausoleum. A visitation for Dennis will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at church. In loving memory of Dennis M. Hogan, a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and papa, who passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his residence at age 82. Born in Kenosha, WI on June 20, 1942, to Ellis and Violet (Zimmerman) Hogan. He was a graduate of Bradford High School. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he began his career as an Electrical Engineer with ALCOA. He later earned a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, served on the Science Council during the Clinton Administration, authored several patents, and eventually transitioned into a successful career in consulting and startups. Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen “Kae” Jean Angotti, on July 7, 1962. Their 62-year union was blessed with 4 children. Throughout his life, Dennis displayed unwavering dedication and love to his family, leaving an indelible mark on all those who knew him. He loved to read, fish, bird watch, build and dream. Dennis is survived by his wife, Kae; his children, Todd (Jackie Yuska), Jeff (Deborah Rzasnicki), Kelly (Wayne) Scharringhausen and Scott (Chris Bearley); his grandchildren, Jacob (Malika Ikramova) Hogan, Branden Scharringhausen, Caitlin (Brandon Rojas) Hogan, Kelsey (Steve Wedekind) Hogan, Taylor Scharringhausen, Maxwell Scharringhausen, Peter Hogan, Bridget Hogan, Samantha Hogan, Canaan Hogan; and great grandchildren, Jane Hogan, Theo Hogan, August Wedekind and Atticus Rojas and many nieces and nephews Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Violet Hogan; his sister, Maureen Castronova and his grandson, Zachary Hogan. As friends and family mourn his loss, they remember a man who embraced each day with a contagious enthusiasm for life. Dennis’ presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family would like to thank Hospice for all of their care and compassion given to Dennis in his final days. May Dennis’ spirit find peace and may those who knew him find solace in the cherished memories they hold dear. |
