Rose C. Sturino, age 95 of Kenosha, died on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on August 15, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Madeline (Eppers) Buttera. On June 19, 1937 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Lewis Sturino. After 61 years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1998. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Rose loved her extended family at St. Joseph’s Health and Rehab Center. She was very active in the St. Joseph community and enjoyed crafts, games and taking various trips. Rose liked watching soap operas, being challenged by word searches, shopping, going out for dinner and traveling with her husband and family. Rose will always be remembered as a very generous lady who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She always treated people with respect and welcomed new acquaintances as her friend. Above all, she loved her family. She is survived by her two sons, John L. (Marilyn) Sturino of Spring Hill, FL and Jerry W. (Barbara) Sturino of Kenosha; her daughter, Mary E. Kuhnley of Kenosha; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Shiotani of CA; a brother-in-law, Sam Sturino, and her loving aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick and Alfred Buttera. The family would like to thank Dr. Joe Garetto and the staff at St. Joseph Home and Rehabilitation for the extraordinary care provided to Rose. |
