Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery. A visitation for Robert will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Robert J. Leipzig, a dedicated firefighter of Kenosha, WI, breathed his last on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the venerable age of 83. Born on August 11, 1941, in his hometown of Kenosha, Bob was a beloved son of the community, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered. Growing up in the heart of Kenosha, Bob found his calling in serving and protecting others. His career as a firefighter with the City of Kenosha Fire Department exemplified his unwavering commitment to his community and fellow residents. Bob’s bravery, selflessness, and tireless dedication made him a hero in the eyes of those he served, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. After retirement in 1997, Bob enjoyed woodworking, crafting, and painting, creating furniture, lawn ornaments, and memorable works of art for those he loved. Although he spent much of his time with these passions, he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout his life, Bob cherished the simple joys of family and home. He leaves behind a proud lineage, survived by his loving children, Rob, Sue (Ted), Rich (Mary), Sandy (Mark), Ron (Melissa); grandchildren Raneta (Josh), Dalena (Chad), Tommy, Jessica (Randy), Kasera, Danielle (Nick), Bryce, Timmy (Katie), Nikole (Garrett), Tyler (Ashley), Lydia, and Nathaniel; great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Nolan, Angel, Rilynn, Jack, Emery, Jonathan, Mason, Kaia, Brielle, Benny, and Ariyah who will forever carry forward his legacy of resilience and compassion. Bob’s memory will be forever cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues, as they recall his unwavering courage and steadfast devotion to duty. Bob was preceded in death by the love of his life, Jacqueline Leipzig; daughter, Mary Funk; seven brothers and two sisters; and his parents, Harriet and Nicholas Leipzig.
