Service Date: August 19, 2024 SERVICE LOCATION St. Marys Lutheran Church A visitation honoring the life of Wayne will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. An additional visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, 2001 80th St., Kenosha, WI from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Wayne Edward Koessl, 95, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, the same day as his wife of 74 years, Patricia Koessl. Wayne graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a lifelong Kenosha resident who was deeply committed to the community, serving on the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission and the Kenosha County Board. Wayne worked for WE Energies for 64 years. He was initially hired as a tree trimmer and spent the next six decades ascending through the company. Wayne also served as the president of the Wisconsin Counties Association, chairman of the Board for the Wisconsin Retirement System, and on the board of the Shalom Center and the United Way of Kenosha. Wayne called Pat his soulmate and was endlessly proud of his family. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings. He is survived by his three sons, Jeffrey R. Koessl (Kathy), Roger A. Koessl (Debra), and Thomas C. Koessl (Kathleen “Kacey”); his four grandchildren, Ryan A. Koessl (Tricia), Michael W. Koessl, Christine M. Koessl (Maurice Gordon), and Rachel A. Gardinier (Ryan); and his four great-grandsons, Easton, Oubre, Tanner and Jamir (“JJ”). He looked forward to welcoming an additional grandson and two great-grandchildren in 2024. |
