Service Date: August 12, 2024 SERVICE LOCATION Piasecki Funeral Home Funeral services honoring Darrel’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI. Interment with full military honors will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation for Darrel will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Darrel Benjamin Reck passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2024, in his hometown of Kenosha, WI. Born on November 7, 1951, Darrel lived a life filled with simplicity, dedication, and service. He proudly served his country in the Army as a Specialist Four Aviation Mechanic before returning home to work as a custodian for the Kenosha Unified School District until his well-deserved retirement. Darrel was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Susan Reck, sharing over 52 years of love and companionship together. Darrel loved his family and was the epitome of a protective father and grandfather. Those who knew Darrel remember him as a hardworking and kind-hearted individual, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His commitment to his family, friends, and community was unwavering. Darrel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving him are his wife, Susan; daughters Laura (Jeremy Steinmetz) Evans and Jolene (Jonathan) Raines; grandchildren Benjamin Evans, Krystal (Chuck) Patrick, Molly Steinmetz, and William and Anabelle Raines; great-grandson Jayden Patrick. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Dorothy Reck. As we reflect on his life and the impact he had on those around him, we invite friends and family to join us in honoring his memory at the funeral services and ceremonies to be held in the coming days.
