Service Date: October 28, 2023 Funeral Home Piasecki Funeral Home SERVICE LOCATION Somers Community United Church of Christ Funeral services honoring LeRoy’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Somers Community Church, 9918 12th Street, Somers, WI. Interment will follow with full military honors in Oakwood Cemetery, 1210 53rd Ave., Kenosha, WI. A visitation for LeRoy will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. LeRoy M. Johnson, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 19, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Born in West Salem, LaCrosse, WI on September 7, 1931 to the late Milton Julian and Ella Elizabeth (Van Riper) Johnson. He attended local schools in LaCrosse, graduating from Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School. He proudly served his country with the US Army from 1953 to 1955 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Technical Corporal. Assigned to the Korean Military Advisory Group (Mail Clerk Postal Service), he received the National Defense Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal and Korean Service Ribbon. On June 27, 1959 he married Myrtle Janice (Baker) in Stevenstown, LaCrosse, WI. After their marriage, they moved to Kenosha and made their lifetime home in Somers, WI. He was employed with AMC/Chrysler for over 30 years as an Inspector. LeRoy was a member of the Somers Community Church. LeRoy enjoyed gardening and travel, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be forever cherished by his daughter Julie (Tom) Harper; his siblings: David (Deb) Johnson and Marilyn (Bill) Dick; brother-in-law Silver Kamrowski; sisters-in-law: Audrey Baker and Norine Johnson; many nieces, nephews, their spouses, children and grandchildren. Along with his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by his beloved wife Myrtle and his daughter Dawn Marie Johnson; his brother Adolph and his sister Vivien Kamrowski; 4 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law; 1 niece and 2 nephews; 1 grandniece and 1 grandnephew.
