A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for Mass. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation for Edith will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Edith Bridget (Peddle) Hughes, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital. She was born on October 27, 1945, and lived in Highland Park, IL. She was the youngest of five children born to the late Stanley and Edith (Ralph) Peddle. Edith worked at Cherry Electrical Products for over forty years. She was there when the company opened its doors in Highland Park, Il., then as it expanded operations in Waukegan, IL., and finally Pleasant Prairie, WI. This is where she met the love of her life, Leon Hughes. She was married to Leon Hughes in Waukegan, IL., in 1981. They made their home in Kenosha, WI. Edith established many dear friendships during her lifelong career with Cherry and she kept in close contact with each over the years. Edith was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Pleasant, Prairie, WI. She enjoyed attending Mass, spending time with her family and friends, going to the movies, reading books, watching her favorite shows and phone calls to her family and friends. She was a TRUE friend to all who had the privilege to know her! She was a dear sister and a much-loved aunt. Her kind nature, smile, willingness to lend a helping hand and witty personality will be fondly remembered. Edith is survived by, her dear sister, Margie (Marty) Netzer of Lake Bluff, Il; her sisters-in-law, Edith Lou and Sally Peddle; her loving nieces, Vicky Netzer and Colleen Netzer, many nieces and nephews and her bonus family, Patrick (Therese) Quick, Haley and Kurt Quick and their extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her brothers, Bill, Bob, and Ronnie Peddle
