Marlene Mullins, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, WI. after a short illness. Born on January 29, 1938 in Chicago, IL, she was the youngest of eight children born to the late Peter and Agnes (Prym) Czeszewski. She attended local schools in Chicago and graduated from Madonna High School. On October 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to her first and only love, Gerald (Jerry) Mullins. Sadly, after 61 years of marriage he passed away on April 27, 2020. After Jerry passed away, Marlene moved to Kenosha so she could be closer to her family. Marlene was employed for over 20 years at Dominick’s Grocery Store. She made many friends along the way and was always known as the cashier with the contagious smile. Often if someone didn’t have enough money for their groceries she would dig into her pockets and pay the remaining due. She always brought extra money along to work for those occasions so she could help someone in need. After retiring in 2000, Marlene and Jerry took many vacations, started biking and enjoyed time with their grandchildren. For many years their faithful companion Rosie (their Doberman Pincher), was by their side and brought both Marlene and Jerry many years of unconditional love. Marlene is fondly remembered for her annual 4th of July celebrations and how beautifully she decorated her home inside and out for every holiday. Each year she would make new Halloween costumes for Jerry and the grandchildren to wear but her favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day. Her family would often joke that she’s been married to an Irish man for so long that she started to believe she was born Irish. Despite being married to a Bears fan she was a huge Green Bay Packer fan and they both enjoyed watching NASCAR races together. Marlene is survived by her children, Brian (MaryAnn) Mullins, Keith (Linda) Mullins, Sean (Laura) Mullins and Mary (Scott) Harbach. Fondly known as Gigi, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her life. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Mallory Rocke, Cory Mullins, Brianna Mullins, Erin Pagliari, Kelly Harbach, Meghan Harbach and her seven great grandchildren, Willow Rocke, Leo Mullins, Ellie, Dawson, Bentley, Tinley, and Parker Pagliari. Along with her parents and her husband, Jerry, Marlene was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sarah Mullins and her seven siblings. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Alliance for the delicate care and compassion they provided during her short stay.
Services for Marlene will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Children’s Tumor Foundation, National Office; 697 Third Avenue, Suite 418, New York, New York 10017, https://www.ctf.org would be appreciated.
