Imogene W. “Jeannie” Wierzbicki, age 88 of Kenosha, passed away at HCR Manorcare on Thursday, March 19, 2015. Born in Chariton, Iowa on January 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Rachel (Hatfield) Ricker. Moving to Kenosha as an infant, she attended Roosevelt Elementary, Washington Jr. High and Mary D. Bradford High Schools. On June 1, 1946, Jeannie was united in marriage to Eugene Wierzbicki at St. Casimir Catholic Church. They were blessed with 49 years of marriage before he passed away on December 4, 1995. In her earlier years, she was employed with Quaker Stretcher Full Fashion during WWII and Carters Children’s clothing store. In 1985, Jeannie and Eugene moved to Monico, WI, but returned to Kenosha in 1995. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Christian Women of the parish, she served as a volunteer with Hospice Alliance and also volunteered for many years at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center. When Jeannie moved back to Kenosha, she bowled in the Tuesday morning coffee league at Sheridan Lanes. Her hobbies included fishing, knitting, trips to the casino and spending time with her family. Jeannie will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Linda J. Williams and Sherry E. Rosko; two sons, Richard E. (Debbie) and Brian P. (Lynn) Wierzbicki; a brother, Marvin Ricker; a sister, Betty (Harry) MacLaurin; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe Ricker-Wierzbicki; four brothers, Lester, Robert, Paul and William Ricker and a sister, Dorothy Fredrick. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of HCR Manor Care and Hospice Alliance for their kindness and dedicated care given to Jeannie. |
