Joseph J. Valente, Jr.

Joseph James Valente Jr., age 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Brookdale Kenosha.

Born on August 7, 1943, he is son of the late Joseph and Mae (Durand) Valente Sr.  He was a graduate of Morton High School.  He continued his education at Carthage College and earned his master’s degree in Business from Lake Forest College.

From 1960-1964, Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

On September 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sophia Sakellos in Cicero, IL.

Joseph was employed in Information Technology and Recruiting for his entire working career until his retirement in August 2008.

He loved spending time with family and friends.  In addition, Joseph enjoyed golfing, playing cards, going to the movies, and watching classic television shows.

He is survived by his wife, Sophia Valente; his son, Joseph J. (Tamara Anderson) Valente III; his grandchildren, Amber and Joseph Rivera; his great grandson, Noah James Rivera; his sister, Patricia Witzke and her two children and his brother, Richard Valente and his two children.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents.
