Alice (Klewicky) Soule, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Born September 11, 1931, to the late Julius and Agnes (Urban) Klewicky. Alice was a lifelong Kenosha resident and graduated from St. Peter’s grade school and St. Catherine’s High School in Racine. She attended the University of WI-Madison where she met her late husband Raymond A. Soule. They were married on April 18, 1953 in Kenosha, WI. Alice was a woman of faith and belonged to St. Peter and St. Casimir churches. She devoted her life to her six children and spent countless hours volunteering for church, school and sports activities for many years. She was close to family and always made sure to spend time with relatives. She met friends regularly for breakfast or lunch and to play board games. Alice worked at Great Lakes in her younger years and as a substitute teacher for the Kenosha Unified School District and later as a crisis counselor for Kenosha Youth Development Services in the adult shelter. She was told by residents that because she was always willing to talk to them, she had prevented them from committing suicide. She was soft-spoken and always had an encouraging word. One school yearbook picture caption said she had the voice of an angel. Known for her kindness and compassion, Alice cared for a child who had nowhere else to go until a relative was found. She had a rare blood type and would go to the hospital in the middle of the night if they needed an emergency donation. She had a soft spot for animals and late in life took in a dog who was in need. In fact, this dog was the last thing she mentioned before she passed, “I guess I’ll never see my Cody again.” Alice was an avid reader and participated in local book clubs. Her favorite books were mysteries and historical topics. She was a member and officer of the Kenosha County Archeological Society. She was interested in politics and the Kenosha News archives contain her many Letters to the Editor on various issues. Alice enjoyed shopping and her family would get surprise packages from shopping networks. She enjoyed big band music and learning about her Lithuanian heritage. She will be dearly missed and is survived by five of her six children, Gregory Soule, Rae Stein, Barbara (Gary) Wabalickis, Jeffrey Soule and Charles (Nancy) Soule, as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carole and her brother, William.
