Service Date: January 3, 2023 SERVICE LOCATION St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Funeral services honoring Philip’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at St Nicholas Orthodox Church, 4313 18th Avenue. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery. A visitation for Philip will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI.

Philip Basil Romanowski, age 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital. Born on March 22, 1924, he was the son of the late Mikolay and Marie (Kalinowski) Romanowski. He was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. Philip proudly served his country in the United States Army and World War II as a Sergeant. He attended St. Nicholas Church. On October 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Lillian Leskowicz at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Their union was blessed with 71 years of marriage and five wonderful children. Philip owned and operated Mid-City Gas Station. He also worked for the Village & Town of Somers Water Utility, was a volunteer fireman for the Town of Somers and was a commercial fisherman. He loved fishing and supplied fresh fish to area restaurants and parish events. Philip enjoyed mushroom hunting, boating, reading, cooking, history especially local history, old cars and traveling by car. Phil had a lifelong interest in the environment of Lake Michigan. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Lillian Romanowski, his children, James (Karen) Romanowski of Delafield, WI, Renee (Donald Parker) Romanowski of Denver, CO, Jeffery (Ulli) Romanowski of Amenia Union, NY, Jerome Romanowski and Jack Romanowski of Kenosha, WI; his grandchildren, Brett, Matthew, Andrew, Joshua and Zoe; his great grandchildren, Landon, Cole, Mason, Mila and Lillian. In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded by his daughter-in-law, Karen Romanowski and his brothers, Robert, Donald, John, Edward, Lawrence and Paul. |
