Violet M. Desotell, age 87 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Hospitality Nursing & Rehabilitation surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 15, 1927 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hattie (Rickie) Martin and attended local schools. On October 7, 1950 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Earl F. Desotell. They were blessed with four children. Sadly, after 55 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on November 23, 2005. Violet worked at Vincent McCall for 15 years making mattresses and during the war, they made parachutes. Mostly, she was a loving homemaker for her family. In her younger years, Violet had fun playing cards, and was talented at knitting, crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed baking and was famous for her bread and Poke Cake. Mostly Violet will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Violet’s memory will be cherished by her children, Karen Bourget of Kenosha, Kimberly (Dan) Koesterman of Mondovi, WI, Earl Desotell of Kenosha and Ernest (Laura) Desotell of Racine; her 11 grandchildren, Nathan (Jennifer) Desotell, Angela Dugan, Jamie Desotell, Steven Desotell, Matthew Koesterman, Melissa (Jason) Knopps, Malerie (Kevin) Brantner, Joseph Desotell, Sara Desotell, Brent (Kendra) Davis and Kristen Larsen; her 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Elmer (Cam) Martin and Leslie (Florence) Martin and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Helen Nimmerguth and Lou Zelenski and 3 brothers, Lawrence, William and her twin brother, Herbert Martin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, Pastor Charlie Hansen and to all family members and friends for their love and support over the years.
