Richard “Dick” Picazo, Jr., age 79, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Brookside Care Center. Born in Kenosha on October 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Richard and Isabel (Garcia) Picazo, Sr. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. Dick honorably served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp. from February 26, 1954 until February 25, 1957, while stationed in Hawaii. On February 8, 1964, Dick was united in marriage to Sara A. Moyer in Waukegan, IL. They were blessed with two sons and 48 years of marriage before she passed away on September 13, 2012. He was employed as a machinist with AMC/Chrysler Corp. for almost 35 years. Dick was a member of the UAW Local #72 retirees and also attended First United Methodist Church, where he volunteered his Thursday’s for over the past year. He was a founding member of the parents’ boosters of the Band of the Black Watch, was an avid reader, had a vast collection of maps and also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, bridge and rummy. In his earlier years, he enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, golfing and fishing. Dick was quite the bargain hunter, always searching for hidden treasures at local rummage sales. He is survived by his son, Steven (Elizabeth) Picazo; four brothers, Frank “Greg” (Joan) Picazo, Robert (Noni) Picazo, Roman “Sam” (Julie) Abrego and Ralph Abrego; four sisters, Inez Navarro, Margaret (Tom) Knepshield, Rosalie (Dean) Johnston and Sara (David) Cantrell and two grandchildren, Katherine and Andrew Picazo. In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by a son, Michael in 1999 and two sisters, Dolores in infancy and Constance “Connie” Picazo.
