Eileen Van Meter, age 52, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born in Libertyville, IL on January 31, 1970, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elaine (Bouloukos) Van Meter. She was a lifelong resident of Round Lake Beach, IL. Eileen was a long-time and well-respected employee of The Hanover where she worked as a Team Lead helping to train and develop underwriting support staff. Dedicated in all aspects of her life, she worked for The Hanover for over 30 years. Eileen loved Bingo. She loved to play it, and when not playing, she was in the hall as the bingo caller. She had a wonderful community of friends who played together for years. When not playing bingo, she loved to play any game with friends and family, especially long-running games to keep a competition going. When outdoors, she loved relaxing in the pool, fishing, balloon festivals, and live music on the Kenosha waterfront. Eileen in her truly competitive spirit was always first with recognition and support. At 12:01am on your birthday or anniversary, she had pictures and congratulations for you posted on social media. She bragged incessantly on her nieces and nephew and on all of the four-legged family members she also dearly loved and cared for. She had a vibrant presence that made her unique and wonderful. What we wouldn’t give to hear her trademark, “nniiiiiccce” one more time. Surviving Eileen are her sisters, Ellen (Wallace) Grimmer, Evelyn (Bob) Becker, and Elena Van Meter; her nephew and nieces, Bobby, Josi and Maddy, and her devoted cat, Mia. |
