A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Sheridan Road & 74th Street. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Private inurnment will take place in St. George Cemetery. |

Patricia A. Hammelev, age 83 of Kenosha died on Monday, February 16, 2015 at United Hospital System – Kenosha Hospital Campus. Born in Kenosha on July 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Stanley B. and Margaret E. (Young) Beyer. She attended St. Mark’s Grade School and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. On December 5, 1953 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Kenosha, she was united in marriage to Arthur H. Hammelev. Patricia was employed as a payroll clerk with Jockey International, retiring in 1994. Before Jockey, she was a teacher with Kiddie Kollege for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and their Christian Women Society. Patricia was known for being very patriotic. She dedicated much of her life to helping others. For many years she volunteered at Kenosha Hospital at their surgery desk and in her spare time she used her skills crocheting and making several items for the Women’s and Children’s Horizon. She enjoyed spending her winters in Sun City, AZ and loved attending her grandchildren’s many activities. Patricia will be remembered by her husband of 61 years, Arthur Hammelev; her six children, John (Gwen) Hammelev of Colorado Springs, CO, Paul (Peggy) Hammelev of Rockford, IL, Michael Hammelev of Glendale, AZ, Kevin (Jean) Hammelev of Glendale, AZ, Mark (Christine) Hammelev of Colorado Springs, CO and Karen (Paul) Schold of Hales Corners, WI; her sister, Sandra (Peter) Roche of Belvidere, IL; her twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Amy, Erin, Ryan, Matthew, Lauren, Alexander and Nicholas Hammelev; and Shelby, Mitchell and Shannon Schold; her three great grandchildren, Bethany, Luke and Christian; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Metten. |
