Service Date: November 30, 2021 SERVICE LOCATION Piasecki Funeral Home Funeral services honoring Ken’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. A visitation for Ken will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Kenneth Burman, age 85, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 in Pleasant Prairie. Born on March 19, 1936 in Morrison, IL, he was the son of Anthon and Addie (Degroot) Burman. He grew up attending local schools and graduated from Bradford High School. Ken proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1957 as an airplane mechanic. Over the years, he worked for JI Case, McWhyte and for a Volkswagen garage. After 27 years with Chrysler in Machine Repair, he retired in 1997. In 2014, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ploetz at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kenosha. Ken was a volunteer at the Aurora Hospital surgery desk, the Wellness Center at Parkside, the Wildlife Refuge, and was on the Board at the Senior Center. He was passionate about his 16 years of volunteer service to Hospice Alliance. Additionally, he served as Vice President of the Kenosha Running Club and has done 55 marathons. He was a lifeguard for the Reuther Swim Team, for the Special Olympics, and the Great Lakes Navy Base. He loved the excitement of the cross-country bicycle trips taken as well. Ken will be missed by his wife, Barbara; his children, David and Scott Burman; his stepchildren, Linda (Dan) Ten Cate, Jeff (Betty) Norris, Mike (Karla) Norris, Vickie Leiting, Jim (Janet) Leiting, Don (Laura) Leiting, Cheryl (Russ) Ruger, Bob (Cindy) Leiting, Diane Sterba; his siblings, Merle Burman, Edwin (Lynda) Burman, Harvey (Sue) Burman; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sandy; his second wife, Shirley; his brother, Irwin Burman; his sister-in-law, Charlene Burman.
