A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held privately. |

Janice (nee: Loew) Thomas, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born on February 10, 1934 in Chippewa Falls, WI, she was the daughter of Irvin and Theresa (Meier) Loew. Her family relocated to Kenosha in 1940. She grew up attending local schools and graduated from Bradford High School. On November 24, 1957, she was united in marriage to her first love, Robert F. Thomas in Zion, IL. They enjoyed 29 years together before Robert passed away in 1986. Janice spent 29 years as a Placement Specialist in Job Service with the State of Wisconsin. For 15 years, she was also responsible for the Westwood Estates Manufactured Homeowners Association Ordinances. In 1957, she took on the role of Chairperson for her high school Class of 1952, organizing reunions every five years. She enjoyed creating DVD’s with her family photos, traveling and casinos. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kimberley Thomas, Racine, Tammy (Mario) Macareno, New Berlin, Robert (Rosemarie) Thomas, Thomas (Korin) Thomas; her five grandchildren, Heather Thomas, Robert (Heidi) Thomas, Jr., Brittany (Dan) Smith, Jeremy Thomas, Danielle (Brandon Martinez) Macareno; her five great-grandchildren; her dog children, Lilly and Cinna. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Amanda Woods, Henrietta Schroetter, Bernice Markwell, Betty Tajnai, Yvonne Haile; her brothers, John, Pete, Lester and Dean Loew. Janice’s family would like to thank the staff at Froedtert South-Pleasant Prairie ICU and ICU step-down unit staff, Dr. Knight, Dr. Chua and Dr. Bloom for all of their compassionate and wonderful care.
