Rose "Toni" Woodward

Rose “Toni” Antonacci Woodward, age 94, died in Pleasant Prairie, WI on May 26, 2021.

Born August 5, 1926 in Calascio, P d’Aquiala, Italy, to the late Guiseppe (Joe) Antonacci and Margherita Antonacci. Toni came to America when she was two years old. She attended school in Christopher, IL and graduated in 1948 from the University of Southern Illinois with a BS in Business Education and English.

Toni worked at the University of IL Medical Center (Chicago, IL), San Bernardino County Hospital, (CA), St. Elizabeth’s Hospital (Washington, D.C.), San Francisco County Hospital, The University of CA-San Francisco Medical Center and the Kenosha Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1985.  At KMH she was the Administrative Asst. to the Chairman of Dept. of Anesthesia before becoming the Clerical Supervisor of the Lab.

Toni was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she enjoyed serving on the Human Concerns Committee, as a Greeter and in other various positions.  She also volunteered at the United Hospital System and the Shalom Center.  She was a member of the Lakeside Players, Catholic Women’s Club, Kenosha Senior Center and Friends of Kenosha Public Museum.

She will be especially remembered for her role as “Sister Melanie” in “Do Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect up?” and as the assistant Director of “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest”.

Survivors include her sister-in law, Mary Eleanor Antonacci; her nieces, Sharon Pfeiffer, Paula Herbrechtsmeier and Lisa Martin; her nephews, Michael and David Antonacci.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nick M. Antonacci.
