Mary A. Rose, age 98, of Kenosha passed away at Kenosha Senior Living on Friday, February 19, 2021. Born in Kenosha on October 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Max and Natalina (Lanceratto) Cappellina. Mary was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. On October 22, 1949 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Joseph Rose. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1989. Mary and Joe thoroughly enjoyed socializing with their wonderful friends, square dancing, dinners and trips with their “gang”. For over 55 years, Mary worked in the hot lunch program at Holy Rosary School. As a young woman, many fond memories were made when she worked at the Sears & Roebuck Department Store in downtown Waukegan. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and an active member of their Rosary Society. Survivors include her children, Vincent J. (Monajean) Rose and Kathleen Hansen; her grandchildren, Eric (Angela) Hansen, Ariane (Rob) Stassek, and Andrew (Brittany) Kachmarsky; and her three precious great grandchildren, Madeline and Noble Hansen and Beau Kachmarsky. She also leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews. Mary was thankful for the many friends and relatives who called her regularly including her sister-in-law Betty (John) Rose, her nieces Margo (Jim) Davidson, Lucy (Rick) Smail, Debbie Acerbi and nephews Mike (Pat) Becker, Bob (Cindy) Becker and special friends Bob (Rosalie) Gentile and Mary Rose Davidson. On the home front, she leaves behind her dear friends, Robert Gentile, Greg and Bridget Powell, Mary Jane (Muzzy) Pillizzi, Alan and Mary Rose Davidson, and Dorothy Dalpos. Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Angeline Cappellina and Jane Becker and her brothers, Frederick and Mario “Mutz” Cappellina; her nephew Robert (Cindy) Becker and her dear friends, Rosalie Gentile, Louis “Muzzy” Pillizzi and Elvira Perry. A special thanks to the staff at Kenosha Senior Living and Hospice Alliance for the care of Mary.
