Gerald “Jerry” J. Mundt, age 63, was called home to his Savior’s side on Friday, February 12, 2021. Born on December 9, 1957, he was the son of Harold and Marjorie (Leisten) Mundt. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended local schools. Jerry was baptized, confirmed, and a lifelong member at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of Shoreland Lutheran High School and graduated from Gateway Technical College with an Associate Degree as an airframe and powerplant mechanic. For over 40 years, Jerry worked for PepsiCo in Kenosha. His work experience included loading trucks, route driving and finishing as a merchandiser before retirement in 2019. Recently, he did maintenance work for Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church and School. In his spare time and retirement, Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends including many trips to Canada. He loved spending time in the woods in northern Wisconsin. Another interest of his was archery becoming a lifetime member of the Kenosha Bowmen Club and serving as treasurer for many years. He loved cooking and baking for his family and extended family. His famous cinnamon rolls were a hit at Christmas, he was in charge of the turkey at Thanksgiving, and made a delicious pea soup after ham dinners. He enjoyed trying new baking recipes, but his monster cookies were a favorite among many. Also, Jerry was very interested in history; especially the Civil War and World War 2 eras. He was a regular attendee of Brewers’ games and the EAA in Oshkosh. Gerald is survived by his brother David (Karen) Mundt of Kenosha; sisters Debra Mundt of Kenosha and Sharon Mundt of Appleton, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marjorie Mundt.
