Theresa G. Jackson, age 92, of Kenosha, passed away at Casa Del Mar on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Born on February 2, 1922, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Loretta (Cosentino) Forgianni. Following the death of her mother while Theresa was an infant, she was raised in the home of Frank and Dena Cosentino along with her cousins, Angelina (Cosentino) Roscioli and Lorraine (Cosentino) Stella. Theresa attended local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School. On December 9, 1967, Theresa was united in marriage to John P. Jackson, Sr. in Kenosha. John brought 3 children into this new blended family who were received by Theresa with love and joy. Theresa and John were married for 14 years before he preceded her in death on August 11, 1982. Working as a bookkeeper for over 30 years, she was employed for 15 years with Simmons Co., and retired from Camosy Construction after 15 years of service. Theresa was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. The highlight of Theresa’s year was marching in the annual street procession honoring Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Theresa was also famous for making 40+ kinds of Christmas cookies every year which she enjoyed sharing as gifts. Theresa was a “legend in her own time” Her “way with words” in both Italian and English will bring smiles for years to come. Although she lived to be 92 years old, the “little girl” in her was evident in her love of dolls, toys and all things Halloween. She will be missed but forever remembered with laughter and smiles. She is survived by her step grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, John Jackson III, Paul Jackson and James Jackson; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, her husband and her daughter Joanne; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Ray Forgianni; her sister, Genevieve Fortino: step daughters, Mary Harp and Joanne Terry; a step son, John Paul Jackson, Jr. Theresa’s family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Casa del Mar for the loving care she received while she was a resident. |
