Fred Ditthardt, age 84, of Twin Lakes, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie. He was born on February 17, 1930, in Siegen, Germany, a son of the late Karl and Anna (Krumm) Ditthardt. He was educated in his homeland, coming to the United States in 1955. Fred was united in marriage to Louise Filz on December 15, 1956. They were blessed with three children and 58 years of marriage. They lived in Kenosha 40 years before making Twin Lakes their home. Fred worked at Stein Plumbing and other plumbing contractors, and retired from American Motors Corporation in 1992. A member of Westosha Lakes Church in Paddock Lake, he had traveled to 43 states and 8 countries. He enjoyed boating, dining out and had a love of animals. Fred and his wife raised chickens on their son’s property and liked to garden. He enjoyed playing Yahtzee with his wife and engaging their grandchildren in the challenge of the game. Fred is survived by his wife Louise; his children Donald (Karen) Ditthardt of Burlington,WI, Karen (Gary) Schneider of Spring Grove, IL, and Shirley (Robert) Cook of Santa Rosa, CA; his grandchildren Keith, Angela, Rebekah, Joshua, Alycia, Jacob and Corinne; great-grandchildren, Damien, Noah, Logan, Jude and Eden; a great-great granddaughter Leah; his sisters Irma Fischbach and Ruth (Eberhard) Bechtel, and a sister-in-law Ursula Ditthardt, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Roy Schneider, and his brothers Ulrich and Guenter. Fred will be remembered for his passion for his Lord and Savior, his love of family and his commitment to remember each of them daily in prayer. |
