Funeral services honoring Gregory’s life will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Catholic Church, 2224 45^th Street, Kenosha. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass.

Inurnment will follow in St. George Cemetery where Greg will be laid to rest alongside his father and sister.

Gregory R. “Rooster” Smith, age 45, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

He was born on March 4, 1975, he was the son of Richard C. and Judith J. (Russo) Smith. He attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and was a 1992 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.

Greg was a member of Operating Engineers Local 139. With his extensive training as an Operating Engineer, he was employed with various construction companies. He was known to many as a patient quiet man who loved gardening, hunting, fishing and cooking with family during the Holidays.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Smith; his son, Christopher Smith; his brother, Jeffrey (Tricia) Smith; his nephew, Ryan Dauster and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Greg was preceded in death by his father Richard “Richie” Smith; his sister, Rhonda Smith and his loyal Doberman Zeus.
