January 2, 1926 - November 17, 2020 Service Date: November 23, 2020 SERVICE LOCATION St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Funeral services honoring Tony’s life will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 5100 22nd Avenue. A visitation for Tony will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Private interment will take place in St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or Masses, memorial remembrances to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (special fund for pew cushions on first three rows) 5100 22nd Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53140 would be appreciated by the family. Due to public health concerns, and in compliance with CDC guidelines, social distancing will be maintained and those in attendance are required to wear a face covering. Anthony L. “Tony” Scuglik, Sr, age 94, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 with his family at his side. Born in Kenosha on January 2, 1926, he was the son of the late Stefan and Pauline (Antala) Scuglik. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School. He enlisted in the Unites States Marine Corp in 1943 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in March of 1946. He served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater and was awarded Citations and Battle Stars for the Campaigns he served in. He also served four years in the C.B. Reserve Unit, located in Kenosha as a Construction Electrician First Class. On September 30, 1950 he married Gloria A. Bobusch at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Kenosha. He was a life-long member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company, then Ameritech for 40 years. He started as a lineman in 1946 and advanced to Supervisor for the Test and Repair Centers; Construction Crews and retired in 1986 as an Outside Plant Engineer. Tony was a lifetime member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol’s and participated in their sports and athletic events from early childhood. He has held various positions within the local and district organizations. He has been the President of the Slovak Catholic Sokol, Assembly #113 in Kenosha since 1981. He has also been President of the Slovak Catholic Sokol Group IV that encompasses Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana since 1987. He is also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was an ardent hunter and looked forward to going hunting with his children. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of 70 years; his daughters, Linda (Mel Jacobs) Parsons and Jean (Johnny) Wisdom; his sons, David (Chris) Scuglik, Frank (Vicki) Scuglik and Steve (Peg) Scuglik; his daughter-in-law, Kim (Vic) Scuglik-Majdan; his twelve grandchildren, Aaron (Rachel) Scuglik, Jarrod (Eugenie) Scuglik, Jason (Lily) Scuglik, Tiffany Scuglik, Kari (Sam) Dagan, Corey (Jesse) Scuglik, Cody Scuglik, Taylor Scuglik, Emma (Sean) Hegarty, Gabriel Scuglik, Krystle (Matthew) Moore and Katie Wisdom; his six great grandchildren, and his brother, William Scuglik. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his son, Anthony L. Scuglik, Jr; his sister, Wilma; his brothers, Steve, Jr, Joseph, Rudolph and Paul Scuglik and his son-in-law, Pete Parsons. A special thanks to Heartland Hospice and North Chicago V.A.
