Eugene J. Lacki, age 96 of Brookfield, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Heritage Court of Waukesha. He was born on January 8, 1924 in Manistee MI and was the son of the late Frank and Stella (Kolanowski) Lacki. He attended St. Joseph Elementary School and was a 1943 graduate of Manistee High School. After graduating from high school, Eugene was selected for Office Candidate School in Field Artillery in Fort Hill, OK. During WWII, from November 1943 until his honorable discharge in October 1945, he served in the US Army in the 258th Field Artillery Battalion. He was stationed throughout Europe including Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Eugene was proud to have been awarded the Victory Medal, European Theater Ribbon with Silver Star, 3 Overseas Service Bars and a Good Conduct Metal for his service. After his military service, Eugene received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. He made Kenosha his new home in 1950. On August 6, 1955 at St Mary’s Catholic Church he was married to Ruth M. White. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2008. Throughout his career Eugene was employed with Dynamatic (Eaton Corporation), Robicon, Siemens, ASEA and P&H. Eugene is survived by his children, Stephen and Margaret; his brother, Aloysius (Julie); his nephews, Mark, Tom and Phillip; and his niece, Michelle. In addition to his parents and loving wife, Ruth; he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth; a brother, Bernard; and two sisters, Christine and Rita.
